It has been a whole year

This Mothers day (and as any other from now on) was very special for our family. Year ago on Mothers day we were siting in the hotel room in Nachang, China and waited for the bell. And it happened as they told us. In the right time there she was. Scarred, but beautiful little girl.

And she loved Marco right away and the love for us followed.
Now year later she has grown into a beautiful 2 year old. After first few months she came out of her shell. At first she was the "dreamy perfect baby". And I mean just mind blowing how happy and obedient she was. I am unsure if this is due to her upbringing at the foster mother home or it was part of attachment process, but it was nice to have this honeymoon with her. Rewind forward one year and here she is showing us her real spunky personality. She is still very happy child, but did learn (as most of 2 years old do) how to play us with her emotions. Everyday she surprise me how smart she really is. Every time I look at her I realize how extremely lucky we are to have her in our family.
She now can count to ten in English and Czech. She sings alphabet song and other Czech or English songs. She can spell her name - lucky for her it is very short. She can ride her push bicycle. Unfortunately I do not think she will be runner, at least not with the technique she uses now. When she runs it seems she uses her hands as propeller to do so, but they seem to fly in all kinds of directions. And surprisingly we did not have any big injuries. She has not have any bad sicknesses, well except of the Mouth, foot disease and that was worst than any earache we had with Marco. Luckily this lasted only week and she did not pass it on anybody else.
And how pretty she is! Well now I might be little bias on this one. Anyway see for yourself.

We could not be more honored to be her family.

Happy Birthday Mei!

Today we celebrated Mei's 1st birthday with us, which was her second birthday. She has been with us for just over 8 months. She is very sweet and happy girl. That sweetness goes away when it comes to sharing toys with Marco, but same goes for him.

Here are some pictures from her birthday.

Christmas at home

Today we celebrated Christmas at home. Kind of European way. Had dinner consisting of pea soup, fish with potato salad and lots of cookies. After the first we had open our gifts.

Even the dogs liked their presents.

One of the presents was Squishy bath. They did not like it at first, but warmed up to it quickly.

Than the night night time. Marco also ask how is Santa going to bring his gift in. He is expecting scooter without any doubt. We shall see what Santa brings him.
On the other note - we went to see Santa yesterday and as expected Mei was not happy at all.

Right before meeting Santa it was all good. Mei was actually excited and pointed at him. Well she had no clue that she would be getting that close to that person. Marco was completely fine. I think his screaming because Santa age is behind.

Christmas at the grandparents

I can not believe it has been 7 months since we met Mei. Time just flies. Yesterday we celebrated Christmas with grandparents, cousins, uncle and aunt. All of the kids had so much fun. Only if there would be enough time. This is Mei's first Christmas. She loved to open her gifts, so did Marco.
